Comprehensive Publication Guidelines

Ang Silakbo welcomes submissions from both established and emerging writers. We are committed to showcasing diverse voices and innovative storytelling. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your work:

• All submissions must be original and previously unpublished works
• Accepted file formats: .doc, .docx, or .pdf
• Maximum word count: 5,000 words for prose, 100 lines for poetry
• Include a brief bio (50-100 words) and contact information
• Simultaneous submissions are allowed but please inform us immediately if accepted elsewhere
• We accept submissions in English and Filipino languages
• Please use standard manuscript formatting: double-spaced, 12-point font (Times New Roman or Arial)

Genres We Accept

At Ang Silakbo, we believe in a rigorous and fair editorial process. Here's what you can expect after submitting your work:

• Initial screening by editorial team (1-2 days): Our team reviews all submissions to ensure they meet our basic criteria and guidelines.
• Detailed review by genre editors (2-3 days): Submissions that pass the initial screening are then carefully evaluated by our genre-specific editors.
• Final decision and feedback (5 days): Our editorial board makes the final selection and provides feedback to authors.
• Revision process: If accepted, authors will work closely with an assigned editor to refine and polish their work for publication.

We strive to respond to all submissions within 5 days to 1 week. If there are high volume of submissions, we may not be able to provide detailed feedback for every piece.

At Ang Silakbo, we respect and protect the intellectual property rights of our contributors. Our copyright policy is designed to benefit both the authors and our publication:

• Authors retain full copyright of their work
• Ang Silakbo receives first publication rights
• After publication, authors may republish their work elsewhere with acknowledgment to Ang Silakbo
• All published works will be archived in our digital repository
• We request a 90-day exclusivity period from the date of publication
